So I've been at the beach with my mom for the past week, and it was so great. Not having a house to clean - well, that I'm primarily responsible for cleaning anyway - or a family expecting a dinner every day or errands to run was great. I love been semi-responsibility-free for a little while. Plus we ended the beach trip with a visit to Ikea. It was the cherry on my vacation sundae.
Eden loved the beach. She ate sand - voluntarily. She warmed up to the water on the second to last day and then decided that she just couldn't go deep enough. If I had let her, she would have walked right in and just kept on walking until the water was deeper than she was.
Winnie can officially roll over and scoot around. 10 weeks old and moving around already. She giggled for the first time yesterday as I was making fart noises at her. This child is so related to me.
I haven't downloaded the beach photos yet, but I will soon. Instead here are some others that I meant to post a few weeks ago. Oh, well. Better late than never.
Baby bassinet - not just for babies. For curious toddlers, too!
One of my new favorite photos. A summer classic.
Favorite photo number one:
And number two:
I may blow the last two up and frame them somewhere in my house. I'm in love with them.
And finally, a general question for the moms of two or more out there: is it just me or do you end up taking less photos of your second (and presumably third and so on...) child than the first? I feel like I keep taking some many Eden but I never have as many of Winnie. Does this mean I secretly like my second child less or something? No, no, no, certainly not. But still. I feel like one day Winnie will look back at the photos I've taken and say, "Mom, why are there 8,000 of Eden and 3 of me?" It's funny because I feel like I'm enjoying Winnie a lot more as a baby than I did with Eden because I'm not constantly worrying about accidentally killing her, so I should be taking more photos, but I'm not. Hm. I guess I'll just chalk it up to extreme fatigue.
