Plight of the String

One of side effects of having a mobile baby (and teething puppy) is that you never know what casualties may occur to your innocent household belongings. Take the case of a poor roll of string.

Here's what happened to it.

Poor string. It had no idea what was coming.

Song

Sing to the tune of the oscar meyer weiner song:

My brain is going crazy.
A meltdown's coming on.
I wish my chores were finished
and the mess were all but gone.
Instead I think I'll sit here,
and stare at yonder wall
and dream of running off to
a sunny port of call.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Heart Day! As a long distance present to the grandparents, here's a video of Eden. Her favorite game right now is chase. I say "I'm gonna gitsooooo" (and yes, that's exactly how I say it) and she giggles and crawls away as fast as she can. Sometimes she crawls herself into a dead end. As you will see in the video. Big hugs!

Anatomy of a Tantrum

You know you are tired and in a bad mood when you look at your own kid and think "Why do people have more than one child? Why would people want to do this twice??"

That was me today. Here's why:

It started when I put her in the floor.

Then it escalated.

And kept going.

Not done yet.

Finally tiring.

And that's when I looked at her and said "I don't like you right now."

I wonder when you have to stop saying that because they start to understand you. Hm.

A Whole New World

I never used to understand how people could surf for hours mindlessly on the Internet. What the heck do you look at?

Well, now I understand. I have fallen (quite happily, I may add) into the world of craft and homemaking blogs. I love them. It's so great to know that there are other people out there who love to craft as much as and more than I do! There are some crazy talented people out there. And now, I can spend hours staring at and reading about all the stuff that they make and feel crazy jealous of them all. :) One I recently found is Lu Bird and this and that. this and that shows you how to make stuff. I love how-tos!

Okay, enough time-wasting. Back to cleaning. And here's a random photo of Eden. :)

Rainy Day Fun

It's been raining here a lot the past few days. Today we saw sun for the first time in a while. So we have been keeping ourselves busy inside, hanging out, being lazy, taking photos, browsing blogs (and wow have I found a bunch I love!), and generally doing anything to avoid doing the things that I need to do like clean, do laundry, etc. (Although, today I did bathe Ruby. Yay me.)
Anyway, today I took a photo of Eden standing pretty steadily holding on with only one hand. She is quickly progressing from scooching to crawling to pulling up. I know walking is right around the corner, far sooner than what I'm ready for, but I'm also very excited by it. So here's a photo of her standing. It also appears that her clothes are slightly too small as well. Guess I should get her some bigger clothes.

And I just have to share with you how long her hair is getting. It's really crazy. Some days it's curly. Some it's straight. Here's what it looks like straight out of the bath, freshly blown dry.
crazy hair!
(I know my facial expression is crazy. I was making random noises to get her to look at the camera. By 6:45 at night, you never know what's going to come out of my mouth.)
Eden loves cuddles and affection. I started kissing her hand through the pack-n-play one day and she thought it was hilarious. Here's a video. Don't mind the barking. Sparty was playing, too. And it's his fault the video ends. You'll see.

And of course, I have the requisite child-questing-for-dogfood video. Luckily she doesn't actually eat any.

And finally, another (yes another) bath time video. In this one, she's talking quite loudly to herself - literally to her reflection in the overflow drain in the tub. I thought it was hilarious. Password is same as always.
